Thank You!

Dear Families,

Wow!  Words cannot express how thankful I am for your generosity in all the wonderful baby gifts for Baby Rocky.  I am in awe of all the love and support that I have received from all of you.

I want to give a BIG thank you to Mrs. Fast for coordinating the baby shower.  Everything was perfect! From the decorations to the gifts to the special treats.   The children and I enjoyed cupcakes (pink and blue of course!) carrots, grapes, and my current favorite (and I think Baby Rocky's too!) sour cream and onion chips!

I love the book of baby name ideas from each one of my students.  Thank you families for working on these pages with them.  I am excited to show Baby Rocky this book some day.  Who knows?  Maybe we will end up using one of the names!

I am sorry that I did not get a chance to write an individual thank you note to each child for your generosity.  I promise to be working on them and hopefully get a chance to send them out to you!

I hope you all have a wonderful and safe summer!

Much love,
Mrs. Rocky

Books, books, books!

Families,
Please be on the look out for any little book that was in a plastic bag.  These books should be returned to school as soon as possible.

Please be sure to look out for any library books that might be at your house.  These books need to be returned as well.

I did send home a book called "My School" for every child.  These books can stay at home for you to keep.

Thanks so much!

Mrs. Rocky

Lots of coughing! :(

There were lots of friends who were doing lots and lots of coughing today.   Yikes!  Our last day of school will be very busy- lots of running around and playing outside.  (Keep your fingers crossed that the rain stays away)

Please be sure that your child is getting plenty of rest and if a day is needed to stay home be sure to do so.  We don't want to spread our germs to everyone else.  (As much as we wash hands, wash the tables, cover our coughs etc) We want everyone to be nice and healthy for our last day of kindergarten.

Thank you for understanding!

Fish!

Yesterday our high school helper Miss Brittney and her mom Mrs. DeBoer were so kind in all giving us a special fish habitat.  These fish are for you to enjoy!  Miss Brittney wants us all to remember that we don't have to feed our fish too much- just a little bit.  Also, if you haven't already, be sure to take off the cover of your jar.

We were so lucky to have Miss Brittney come to our classroom this year.  We will miss her!

Newsletter- Our Week in Review

June 5, 2014

 Dear Families,
Wow!  Can you believe that this was our last full week in kindergarten!?  It seems just like yesterday that school started.  We have come a long way!
Even though school is quickly coming to an end, the kindergartners have been very busy!  In writing, they have been putting to use their great writing skills and writing about their favorite kindergarten memory.  It was so fun to think back about all the fun things we did in kindergarten.  Ask your kindergartner what their favorite memory was!
The kindergartners have also been writing letters.  They are writing letters to the future kindergarten students.  They wrote about what was fun in kindergarten.  Hopefully, these letters will help our new kindergarten friends be excited about kindergarten!  The students have also been working on writing letters to the first grade teachers.  (We don’t know who they are yet!  We just wrote Dear first grade teacher).  They wrote about what they loved about school and what they are looking forward to doing in first grade.

REMINDERS:
  • There will be NO hot lunch offered on field day.  Please plan accordingly.
  • PTO will not be providing drinks on field day.  Please send a water bottle with your child’s name on it.
  • Please NO crazy hair or sending in markers for students to sign shirts on the last day of school.  Signing shirts is just for our 5th grade friends.  Your child can have their yearbook signed if you wish.
  • Wednesday is our last day!  Can you believe it?!
If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact us.

Money exchange game

Today we learned about the $10 bill. We learned that it takes 10 $1 bills to equal one $10. We also learned that we needed 10 $10 bills to equal a $100 bill. We played an exchange game to try to get to $100. It was a lot of fun.

Fun day with our 3rd grade buddies

We had a chance to say good bye to our 3rd grade buddies. We had Popsicles and read stories. It was such a fun year together!
